Grapefruit & Basil Refresher

This is currently my go-to drink when I’m looking for something bubbly and fun but I’m not necessarily looking for a cocktail. It’s so easy to make and fancy, so you won’t be missing the alcohol one bit (though feel free to add in a shot of vodka…)

This is perfect for sitting in your backyard and it will keep you cool from this summer heat!

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • Grapefruit kombucha
  • Basil leaves (I use about 4-5 depending on size)
  • Sparkling water
  • Lime, quarter and wedge

Instructions:

  1. Fill a whiskey tumbler with some ice (fill about half way)
  2. Add grapefruit kombucha to fill about 3/4 of the glass
  3. Take your basil leaves, place them in the palm of your hand and then clap your hands once or twice. This releases the fragrance of the herbs but won’t turn them bitter like muddling them does
  4. Add your basil leaves to your glass and give it one or two gentle stirs
  5. Top the rest with sparkling water
  6. Squeeze the lime juice on top from the quartered lime
  7. Garnish with the lime wedge
